What to Expect
Love in Action DC connects people to simple, meaningful ways to serve across Washington, DC. Whether it is your first time volunteering or your fiftieth, the goal is the same: show up, serve together, and love our city well.
1. Find an Opportunity
Browse upcoming volunteer opportunities on our website. Most events take place on Saturdays and partner with trusted local organizations across the city.
2. Sign Up
Click on the event you want to attend and sign up. Some events have limited capacity, so spots may fill up.
After signing up, you will receive a confirmation email with any additional details you need.
3. Show Up & Serve
On the day of the event, arrive on time at the listed location. You will either be welcomed by a Love in Action leader or a partner organization staff member, depending on the event.
You will serve alongside a group of volunteers, often in teams. No prior experience is required. Instructions are provided on-site, and most opportunities are beginner-friendly.
